In October we took a mixed group of juniors and U23s to the SuperPrestige in Overijse. Selected riders were: Zoe Parker and Rebecca Woodvine (U23W); Jody Mills, Joe Wooliscroft and Noah White (JM); and Iris Gray and Isabelle Dalgleish (JW).

After arriving at a rainy lunchtime the previous day, riders took a good look at the course under the expert guidance of EvoDevo coach Mark Adams. Conditions were seriously slippery, but riders handled the conditions brilliantly and it was only EvoDevo staff member Sarah Naylor that ended up flat on the floor on a muddy off-camber!

Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it!), the strong breeze had dried the course significantly by race day, meaning the most slippery lines had hardened to become reliably rideable, suiting some better than others. Racing was full-on from the start, which can come as a bit of a shock to those more used to British races.
As usual, everyone learned a lot from the weekend, especially those having their first-time experience of international racing. Iris Gray said:
"It was really good to focus on the prep and the course practice the day before... Having a base with EvoDevo was really helpful in terms of keeping kit clean and having a place to warm up... I'd definitely advise someone to be agressive at the start and put yourself into a good position early on."
Well done to all who took part, and special thanks to Tim Elsmore for joining the EvoDevo team for the weekend.
