Super Camp
SOUTH

Cyclocross is a team sport.

A 'cross rider can't succeed without a pit crew. We'll put riders through their paces while taking their pit crew through everything they need to know to support a rider effectively. In addition to world class coaching, we'll feature specialist off-the-bike sessions from invited professionals. From cornering and cambers to pits and prep, we've got it covered.

DETAILS

EvoDevo’s Super Camps get your cyclocross season off to a great start! We cover a diverse range of skills, coaching and techniques, both on and off the bike, as part of our aim to develop young British riders. Each camp runs over a weekend and is led by some of the best coaches, support crew and expert riders from around the country, including Matt Ellis, Mark Adams, Andy and Sarah Naylor, Ed Collins, Fin Robertson, Ian Field and Beth Crumpton, along with other expert riders and special guests.

Over the two days, Youth (under-16 category), Junior and Under-23 riders will experience technique coaching, practice races, off-bike workshops, and pre- and post-race skills coaching. Riders will work in groups, including, for the first time this year, an advanced group for returning riders and those already riding at that level.

The camp weekends are not only for riders, but also for their parents and helpers, as we understand that the support team plays an important part in any rider’s success. We want them to be an integral part of the camps too. We run separate sessions for parents and helpers, away from the riders’ sessions, covering many aspects of supporting a rider. These include pit techniques and etiquette, bike changes and pit tips, mechanical workshops, and pre- and post-race support.  We will also have a UCI Commissaire with us to answer questions and demystify some of the rules and regulations.  Finally, we bring the parents/helpers and riders together to practise these skills during race sessions, helping to put the learning into practice.

Alongside the technical and practical aspects of the weekend, the camps will include psychological sessions delivered by Tim Buckle in his engaging, unique and energetic style. These sessions will support riders and their parents/helpers in working together—and not just on the bike-related elements!

Also new for this year is a pre-camp workshop, as we simply do not have enough time over the weekend to share all the information we would like to. We are therefore introducing an evening Zoom session for riders and their parents/helpers. This workshop will cover Managing Your Race Day and provide an overview of nutrition.

The session will be presented by EvoDevo staff, with the aim of educating riders and parents about how to plan a race day. It will include example timings, pre- and post-race routines, and tips on what you need to know beforehand. We will then move on to nutrition, providing practical information and examples of what young riders should eat and drink, how much they need, and when they should be fuelling.

There will also be an opportunity to ask questions about these topics—and anything else you would like to know before the camp.

This workshop will only be available to those who sign up in advance. You must have completed your registration and paid in full by 1 September 2026 at the latest.
